The Pacific Crest Trail is a long distance hiking trail which spans 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada along the western coast of the United States.
The trail starts near Campo, California, and ends on the U.S. border at Manning Provincial Park in British Columbia.
The trail crosses:
26 National Forests
7 National Parks
5 State Parks
4 National Monuments
57 major mountain passes
19 major canyons and ambles
1,000+ lakes and tarns
According to the Pacific Crest Trail Association, 7,703 people have completed a thru-huke of the trail. However fewer than 5% of hikers go southbound.
